Accessibility Statement
Galactic Orders by ADV Design wants everyone to be able to read about and use our product, including people who browse with a keyboard only, a screen reader, a magnifier, or with motion or colour sensitivities. This statement covers our public website at galacticorders.com and is written to be honest about where we are, not to claim more than we have done.
Standard we aim for
We target WCAG 2.1 level AA. That is the benchmark used for ADA expectations in the United States and the one EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act point to in the EU.
How we tested
This is a self-assessment. We have not commissioned an independent audit. Every page of the website, in each of the four languages we publish, is checked automatically against the WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules using axe-core, and the results are reviewed by hand for the things automated tools cannot judge: keyboard order, focus visibility, and whether the page still makes sense with styles or scripts unavailable.
What is in place
A skip-to-content link as the first element on every page; one <main> landmark plus proper header, navigation and footer landmarks; a single h1 per page and headings in order; a visible 3px focus ring on everything interactive; the language switcher fully operable by keyboard with arrow keys, Home, End and Escape; text contrast of at least 4.5:1 and at least 3:1 for large text and interface borders; every decorative image hidden from assistive technology and every meaningful one described; each language served from its own URL so <html lang> is always correct and screen readers use the right voice; and animation suppressed for anyone who has asked their system to reduce motion.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than leave you to find them:
The application is not covered. This statement is about the marketing website. The Galactic Orders dashboard is still in development and has not yet been assessed against WCAG 2.1 AA. We will publish its status before it is generally available.
Third-party logos. Carrier and platform logos are supplied by those companies and we do not control their contrast or artwork.
Automated testing has limits. Roughly a third of WCAG criteria can be checked by a tool. The rest is human judgement, and ours is not infallible.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site blocked you, please tell us and describe what happened, which page, and what you were using. Write to hello@adv.design. We are a small team, so we cannot promise a fixed response window, but accessibility reports go to the top of the queue and we will tell you what we intend to do and roughly when.
Enforcement
If you are in the EU and are not satisfied with our response, you may raise the matter with the national enforcement body for the European Accessibility Act in your country. In the United States, you may contact us first at the address above; we would much rather fix a problem than have you escalate it.
This statement describes the state of galacticorders.com on the date shown above, and is reviewed whenever the site changes materially.
